Dhaumya’s Enumeration of Eastern Tīrthas
Prācī-diś Tīrtha-kathana
शौनक: सह पुत्रेण व्यासश्न॒ तपतां वर: । दुर्वासाश्च मुनिश्रेष्ठो जाबालिश्व महातपा:
śaunakaḥ saha putreṇa vyāsaś ca tapatāṁ varaḥ | durvāsāś ca muniśreṣṭho jābāliś ca mahātapāḥ ||
Nārada disse: “Śaunaka, junto com seu filho, e Vyāsa—o mais eminente entre os ascetas—, bem como Durvāsā, o melhor dos sábios, e Jābāli, grande praticante de austeridades.”
नारद उवाच
The verse highlights the moral authority of tapas and sagehood: those established in austerity and spiritual discipline are presented as exemplary figures whose presence lends weight to counsel, judgment, and dharmic guidance.
