तत्राभिषेकं कुर्वाणो वाजपेयमवाप्नुयात् । देवकूटं समासाद्य ब्रह्मर्षिगणसेवितम्
tatrābhiṣekaṃ kurvāṇo vājapeyam avāpnuyāt | devakūṭaṃ samāsādya brahmarṣigaṇasevitam ||
Ali, quem realiza o rito de consagração (abhiṣeka) alcança o mérito do sacrifício Vājapeya. E, tendo chegado a Devakūṭa—frequentado e reverenciado por hostes de brahmarṣis—obtém fruto religioso santificador ao cumprir corretamente o rito em lugar sagrado, pois a observância disciplinada e a convivência com o santo elevam a condição espiritual.
घुलस्त्य उवाच
The verse teaches that sincere performance of prescribed rites in a sanctified place—especially one associated with great sages—yields extraordinary religious merit, comparable to major Vedic sacrifices, underscoring the ethical value of disciplined observance and reverence for holy sites and saintly presence.
The speaker is describing the spiritual efficacy of a particular sacred location: upon reaching Devakūṭa, a place honored by Brahmarṣis, performing an abhiṣeka there is said to grant the fruit of the eminent Vājapeya sacrifice.
