Educational Q&A

Acts like charity and fasting gain greatly increased merit when performed with purity and devotion at renowned tīrthas; pilgrimage, bathing, and honoring gods and ancestors are presented as means to cleanse sin and accrue the fruit of major Vedic rites.

Ghūlastya instructs the king on a sequence of pilgrimage sites, praising specific tīrthas (including Reṇukā) and explaining the spiritual results of bathing there and performing worship, charity, and fasting.
