Pulastya’s Instruction
साहसख््रकं च तत्रैव द्वे तीर्थे लोकविश्रुते । उभयोर्हि नर: स्नात्वा गोसहस्रफलं लभेत्
sāhasrakhaṇḍaṃ ca tatraiva dve tīrthe lokaviśrute | ubhayor hi naraḥ snātvā gosahasraphalaṃ labhet ||
“Ali também há dois vaus sagrados, afamados em todo o mundo—um chamado Sāhasrakhaṇḍa e outro. Quem se banhar em ambos alcança mérito equivalente ao de doar mil vacas.”
घुलस्त्य उवाच
The verse emphasizes the dharmic idea that sincere pilgrimage and ritual bathing at renowned tīrthas can yield great spiritual merit, here expressed through the familiar benchmark of go-dāna (the gift of a thousand cows).
