Chapter 82
दमीति नाम्ना विख्यातं सर्वपापप्रणाशनम् । तत्र ब्रह्मादयो देवा उपासन्ते महेश्वरम्,भरतवंशावतंस कुरुश्रेष्ठी] उनकी परिक्रमा करके त्रिभुवन-विख्यात “दमी” नामक तीर्थमें जाय, जो सब पापोंका नाश करनेवाला है। वहाँ ब्रह्मा आदि देवता भगवान् महेश्वरकी उपासना करते हैं
damīti nāmnā vikhyātaṁ sarvapāpapraṇāśanam | tatra brahmādayo devā upāsante maheśvaram |
“Prossegue para o vau sagrado conhecido como ‘Damī’, célebre por destruir todos os pecados. Ali, Brahmā e os demais deuses veneram Maheśvara (Śiva).”
घुलस्त्य उवाच
The verse teaches that sincere pilgrimage and worship—especially at a sanctified tīrtha—functions as moral purification: it redirects the mind from harmful actions toward restraint, reverence, and devotion, symbolized by the gods themselves worshipping Śiva.
The speaker gives guidance to go to the tīrtha named Damī, famed for removing sins, and notes its exalted status by stating that Brahmā and other deities worship Maheśvara there.
