Pulastya’s Tīrtha Enumeration: Sarasvatī, Naimiṣa, Gayā, and Associated Phalaśruti
Chapter 82
yadi tv aham anugrāhyaḥ tava dharmabhṛtāṃ vara | saṃdehaṃ te pravakṣyāmi tan me tvaṃ chettum arhasi ||
A seeker should openly articulate moral doubt (saṃdeha) before a qualified authority in dharma, and the teacher’s role is to remove that doubt—clarity in duty is presented as essential for righteous action.
Bhīṣma respectfully addresses a great sage, declaring himself a recipient of the sage’s favor and requesting that his uncertainty be resolved; the verse sets up a dharma-inquiry dialogue.
