Chapter 82
अश्वमेधमवाप्रोति कुलं चैव समुद्धरेत् । महर्षियो! आजसे तुम्हारे धर्मकी उत्तरोत्तर वृद्धि होती रहेगी। नरश्रेष्ठ) उस रुद्रकोटिमें स्नान करके शुद्ध हुआ मनुष्य अश्वमेधयज्ञका फल पाता और अपने कुलका उद्धार कर देता है
aśvamedham avāpnoti kulaṃ caiva samuddharet | maharṣayaḥ! ājase tubhyaṃ dharmasya uttarottarā vṛddhir bhaviṣyati | naraśreṣṭha! asmin rudrakoṭe snātvā śuddho manuṣya aśvamedhayajñasya phalaṃ prāpnoti sva-kulasya ca uddhāraṃ karoti |
Ghūlastya disse: “Aquele que se banha nesta Rudrakoṭi e se purifica alcança o mérito do sacrifício Aśvamedha e traz libertação à sua linhagem. Ó grandes rishis! Para vós, Ajasa, que o crescimento do dharma aumente sempre mais. Ó melhor dos homens, quem é limpo por este banho obtém o fruto do Aśvamedha e eleva a sua família.”
घुलस्त्य उवाच
The passage teaches that sincere purification at a sacred tīrtha can yield extraordinary spiritual merit—comparable to major royal sacrifices—and that such merit is ethically framed as strengthening dharma and benefiting one’s lineage.
Ghūlastya addresses sages and a person named Ajasa, praising the sacred power of the Rudrakoṭi bathing-place: bathing there purifies a person, grants the fruit of the Aśvamedha, and is said to uplift the bather’s family line.
