भारत! धर्मात्माओंमें श्रेष्ठ भीष्मने वहाँ उपस्थित हुए महाभाग महर्षिका शास्त्रोक्त विधिसे पूजन किया ।। शिरसा चार्घ्यमादाय शुचि: प्रयतमानस: । नाम संकीर्तयामास तस्मिन् ब्रह्मर्षिसत्तमे,उन्होंने पवित्र एवं एकाग्रचित्त होकर (पुलस्त्यजीके दिये हुए) अर्घ्यको सिरपर धारण करके जन ब्रह्मर्षिश्रेष्ठ पुलस्त्यजीको अपने नामका इस प्रकार परिचय दिया--
śirasā cārghyam ādāya śuciḥ prayatamānasaḥ | nāma saṅkīrtayām āsa tasmin brahmarṣi-sattame ||
Ó Bhārata, o nobre Bhīṣma—o primeiro entre os justos—honrou o grande sábio ali presente, prestando culto segundo a regra das escrituras. Puro e com a mente disciplinada e concentrada, ergueu o arghya com reverência sobre a cabeça e, diante daquele melhor dos Brahmarṣis (Pulastya), proclamou formalmente o próprio nome em apresentação.
नारद उवाच
The verse highlights dharma expressed as reverence and proper conduct toward realized sages: purity, mental discipline, and scripturally guided hospitality (offering arghya and respectful self-introduction) are ethical markers of a righteous person.
Nārada narrates that Bhīṣma, present before the great Brahmarṣi Pulastya, performs the prescribed worship, takes up the arghya in a gesture of deep respect, and then announces his name to the sage as a formal introduction.
