As a chapter-colophon, the line itself teaches by framing the episode: it highlights the ethical arc of the Nalopākhyāna—endurance through suffering, fidelity and discernment, and the eventual re-establishment of rightful order after moral testing.
This is not a spoken verse of dialogue but a concluding colophon: it announces that the seventieth chapter has ended, and identifies its subject as the narration of Damayantī’s second svayaṃvara within the Nalopākhyāna of the Vana Parva.
