Kāmyaka-vane Pāṇḍava-nivāsaḥ — Vidurasya āgamanam ca (कamyake वने पाण्डवनिवासः—विदुरस्य आगमनं च)
राज्ञा पृष्ट: स कुशलं सुखासीनश्न संजय: । शशंसागमने हेतुमिदं चैवाब्रवीद् वच:,राजा युधिष्ठिरके कुशल-प्रश्न करनेके पश्चात् जब संजय सुखपूर्वक बैठ गया, तब अपने आनेका कारण बताते हुए उसने इस प्रकार कहा
rājñā pṛṣṭaḥ sa kuśalaṁ sukhāsīnaś ca sañjayaḥ | śaśaṁsāgamane hetum idaṁ caivābravīd vacaḥ ||
Depois que o rei se informou sobre o seu bem-estar, Sañjaya sentou-se com tranquilidade. Então, explicando o motivo de sua vinda, proferiu estas palavras—dando início à mensagem que moldaria o curso dos acontecimentos.
