Book 3, Chapter 42
तस्मिन् रथे स्थितं सूतं तप्तहेमविभूषितम् । दृष्टवा पार्थों महाबाहुर्देवमेवान्वतर्कयत्,महाबाहु कुन्तीकुमारने उस रथपर बैठे हुए सारथिकी ओर देखा, जो तपाये हुए सुवर्णके आभूषणोंसे विभूषित था। उसे देखकर उन्होंने कोई देवता ही समझा
tasmin rathe sthitaṁ sūtaṁ tapta-hemavibhūṣitam | dṛṣṭvā pārtho mahābāhur devam evānv atarkayat ||
Ao ver o cocheiro sentado naquele carro, adornado com ornamentos de ouro brunido, Pārtha (Arjuna), de braços poderosos, julgou que ele não era senão um deus. A cena ressalta como o fulgor divino e o porte nobre inspiram reverência, ao mesmo tempo em que sugere um tema recorrente do épico: o divino pode surgir em papéis humanos para conduzir os acontecimentos rumo ao dharma.
