Dharma-śaṅkā-nivāraṇa: Yudhiṣṭhira’s Response on Karma-Phala and Trust in Dharma

ततः प्रवर्तते पश्चात्‌ कारणैस्तस्य सिद्धये । तां सिद्धिमुपजीवन्ति कर्मजामिह जन्तवः,तदनन्तर उन्हीं उपायोंद्वारा उस कार्यकी सिद्धिके लिये प्रवृत्त होना चाहिये। सभी प्राणी इस जगतमें उस कर्मजनित सिद्धिका सहारा लेते हैं

tataḥ pravartate paścāt kāraṇais tasya siddhaye | tāṁ siddhim upajīvanti karmajām iha jantavaḥ ||

“Depois disso, deve-se pôr em movimento—valendo-se dos meios apropriados—para alcançar esse objetivo. Pois, neste mundo, os seres vivos se sustentam apoiando-se no êxito que nasce de suas próprias ações.”
