ततो दिव्या दुन्दुभय: प्रणेदु: पपातोच्चै: पुष्पवर्ष च दिव्यम् दृष्टवा कर्ण शस्त्रसंकृत्तगात्रं मुहुश्नापि स्मयमानं नृवीरम्,कर्णके सारे अंग शस्त्रोंक आधातसे कट गये थे, फिर भी वह नरवीर बारंबार मुसकरा रहा था। यह देखकर दिव्य दुन्दुभियाँ बज उठीं एवं आकाशसे दिव्य फूलोंकी वर्षा होने लगी
tato divyā dundubhayaḥ praṇeduḥ papātoccaiḥ puṣpavarṣaṃ ca divyam | dṛṣṭvā karṇaśastrasaṃkṛttagātraṃ muhuś cāpi smayamānaṃ nṛvīram ||
Então ressoaram os tímpanos celestes, e do alto caiu uma chuva de flores divinas. Ao verem aquele herói — o corpo talhado e dilacerado pelas armas — e, ainda assim, sorrindo repetidas vezes, os céus responderam com sinais auspiciosos.
