यदा च कर्णों राजेन्द्र भानुमन्तं दिवाकरम्‌ | स्तौति मध्यन्दिने प्राप्ते प्राजजलि: सलिले स्थित:

Transliteration

yadā ca karṇo rājendra bhānumantaṃ divākaram | stauti madhyandine prāpte prāñjaliḥ salile sthitaḥ ||

Translation

Disse Vaiśaṃpāyana: “E quando Karṇa, ó rei, à chegada do meio-dia, permanece de pé na água com as mãos unidas em reverência e entoa hinos ao radiante Sol—o fazedor do dia—ele cumpre seu rito diário de devoção e disciplina, honrando a fonte da luz e da ordem.”
