अध्याय ३० — क्रोधदोषाः क्षमाप्रशंसा च
Defects of Anger and the Praise of Forbearance
आकाश इव भूतानि व्याप्य सर्वाणि भारत । ईश्वरो विदधातीह कल्याणं यच्च पापकम्,भारत! ईश्वर आकाशके समान सम्पूर्ण प्राणियोंमें व्याप्त होकर उनके कर्मानुसार सुख- दुःखका विधान करते हैं
ākāśa iva bhūtāni vyāpya sarvāṇi bhārata | īśvaro vidadhātīha kalyāṇaṃ yac ca pāpakam ||
Yudhiṣṭhira disse: “Ó Bhārata, assim como o espaço permeia todos os seres, assim o Senhor permeia cada criatura aqui e, de acordo com seus atos, ordena tanto o bem-estar quanto a dolorosa consequência do mal — felicidade e sofrimento.”
युधिछिर उवाच
The verse teaches that the Lord is all-pervading—like space—and that the distribution of happiness and suffering follows moral causality: beings experience outcomes in line with their actions, under a divine governance that maintains cosmic order.
Yudhiṣṭhira reflects on the nature of divine rule and moral consequence, addressing “Bhārata,” and frames human experience—good fortune and suffering—as something dispensed by Īśvara in accordance with deeds.
