Ajñātavāsa-saṅkalpaḥ — Yudhiṣṭhira’s Resolve and Dhaumya’s Exempla on Concealment
त्वयि पुत्रशतं चैव सत्यवान् जनयिष्यति । ते चापि सर्वे राजान: क्षत्रिया: पुत्रपौत्रिण:,'सत्यवान् तेरे गर्भसे सौ पुत्र उत्पन्न करेगा और वे सभी राजकुमार राजा होनेके साथ ही पुत्र-पौत्रोंसे सम्पन्न होंगे
tvayi putraśataṃ caiva satyavān janayiṣyati | te cāpi sarve rājānaḥ kṣatriyāḥ putrapautriṇaḥ ||
Yama disse: “Por teu intermédio, Satyavān gerará cem filhos. Todos eles serão kṣatriyas e reis, e cada um será abençoado com filhos e netos.”
यम उवाच
Righteous conduct—especially truthfulness and steadfast devotion within dharma—has transformative moral force: it can avert loss, restore what is taken, and secure the continuity and welfare of a family line for generations.
Yama, pleased by the heroine’s dharmic resolve and speech, grants a boon: Satyavān will father a hundred sons through her, and they will become Kṣatriya kings with enduring descendants, ensuring dynastic prosperity.
