कुन्तीगर्भगोपनम् तथा मञ्जूषाप्रवाहः
Kuntī’s concealed childbirth and the river-borne casket
शक्तीश्व विविधाकारा: शतध्नीश्व शितान् क्षुरान् । उस समय श्रीरामचन्द्रजीके ऊपर भाँति-भाँतिके हजारों शस्त्र गिरने लगे तथा भुशुण्डी, शूल, मुसल, फरसे, नाना प्रकारकी शक्तियाँ, शतघ्नी और तीखी धारवाले बाणोंकी वृष्टि होने लगी
śaktīś ca vividhākārāḥ śatadhnīś ca śitān kṣurān |
Mārkaṇḍeya disse: «Então, sobre Śrī Rāmacandra começou a cair uma chuva implacável de armas — maças de muitas formas, pesados projéteis de ferro (śatadhnī) e flechas afiadas como lâminas — de tal modo que o próprio céu parecia chover instrumentos de violência. A cena evidencia o extremo do assalto e, em contraste, a firmeza do herói justo, que o suporta sem abandonar o dharma.»
