Yudhiṣṭhira disse: “De fato, pais matariam seus filhos, e filhos igualmente seus pais; maridos matariam suas esposas, e esposas também seus maridos.”
युधिछिर उवाच
The verse warns of adharma at its extreme: when ethical restraint collapses, even the most sacred relationships—parent-child and husband-wife—are violated. It highlights how societal decay manifests first in the breakdown of family duties and mutual protection.
Yudhiṣṭhira is describing a grim condition of the world (a vision of moral degeneration), emphasizing that in such a time people turn violently against their own kin, signaling the inversion of dharma and the loss of social harmony.
