Sāvitrī’s Dialogue with Yama and the Restoration of Satyavān
तैलाभिषिक्तो विकचो मज्जन् पड़के दशानन: । असकृत् खययुक्ते तु रथे नृत्यन्निव स्थित:,'सपनेमें मैंने देखा है कि रावण तेलसे नहाये, मूँड़ मुँड़ाये, कीचड़में डूब रहा है। फिर कई बार देखनेमें आया कि वह गदहोंसे जुते हुए रथपर खड़ा होकर नृत्य-सा कर रहा है
tailābhiṣikto vikaco majjan paṅkake daśānanaḥ | asakṛt kharayukte tu rathe nṛtyann iva sthitaḥ ||
Mārkaṇḍeya disse: “Em sonho vi Daśānana (Rāvaṇa) ungido com óleo, a cabeça raspada, afundando no lodo. E, repetidas vezes, eu o vi de pé sobre um carro atrelado a jumentos, como se dançasse.”
मार्कण्डेय उवाच
The verse conveys that adharma and arrogance lead to inevitable degradation: the wrongdoer is symbolically shown losing honor and control, indicating karmic and moral consequences that culminate in disgrace and destruction.
Mārkaṇḍeya reports a recurring dream-vision in which Rāvaṇa is oiled and shaven, sinking in mud, and then seen standing on a donkey-yoked chariot as if dancing—an inauspicious sign foretelling his impending downfall.
