Sāvitrī’s Trirātra-Vrata and Departure with Satyavān (सावित्रीव्रतनिश्चयः सहगमनं च)
As a chapter-colophon, the line chiefly signals completion, but it also frames the ethical arc of the episode: adharma enacted through deceit and unlawful desire (leading to Sītā’s abduction) sets in motion suffering and the later necessity of righteous response.
This is the formal closing statement for the chapter in the Rāmopākhyāna within Vana Parva, indicating that the chapter’s subject matter was Mārīca’s slaying and the abduction of Sītā, and that the chapter has concluded.
