Indrajit and Lakṣmaṇa: Escalation through Concealment
हतप्रवीरा रिपवो भूयिष्ठं विद्रुता दिश: । गृहीत्वा द्रौपदी राजन् निवर्ततु भवानितः,“राजन! शत्रुओंके प्रमुख वीर मारे जा चुके हैं और बहुत-से सैनिक सब दिशाओंमें भाग गये हैं। अब आप द्रौपदीको साथ लेकर यहाँसे आश्रमको लौटिये
Vaiśaṃpāyana uvāca | hatapravīrā ripavo bhūyiṣṭhaṃ vidrutā diśaḥ | gṛhītvā draupadīṃ rājan nivartatu bhavān itaḥ ||
Vaiśampāyana disse: “Ó rei, os principais heróis do inimigo foram abatidos, e a maior parte de suas tropas fugiu em todas as direções. Portanto, leva Draupadī contigo e retorna daqui ao eremitério.”
वैशग्पायन उवाच
When the immediate threat has been neutralized, dharma favors restraint and responsible withdrawal: the priority becomes safeguarding Draupadī and restoring order rather than pursuing further violence.
The narrator reports that the enemy’s leading warriors have been killed and the rest have largely scattered. He advises the king to take Draupadī and return from the battlefield area back to the āśrama (hermitage).
