Rāvaṇa–Mārīca Dialogue and the Decoy-Deer Prelude to Sītā’s Abduction
पितृपैतामहं राज्यं प्राप्स्पस्पमितविक्रम । वर्षात् त्रयोदशादूर्ध्व व्येतु ते मानसो ज्वर:,अमितपराक्रमी युधिष्ठिर! तुम तेरहवें वर्षके बाद अपने बाप-दादोंका राज्य प्राप्त कर लोगे, अतः अब तुम्हारी मानसिक चिन्ता दूर हो जानी चाहिये
pitṛpaitāmahaṃ rājyaṃ prāpsyasi mitavikrama | varṣāt trayodaśād ūrdhvaṃ vyetu te mānaso jvaraḥ ||
Vyāsa disse: “Ó tu, comedido e ainda assim valente! Após treze anos, recuperarás o reino ancestral de teus pais e avós. Portanto, que a febre de tua mente—tua aflição ansiosa—se dissipe agora.”
व्यास उवाच
Even amid exile and uncertainty, one should steady the mind with patience and trust in rightful outcomes; anxiety is to be relinquished when duty is being followed and the time for restoration is assured.
Vyāsa addresses Yudhiṣṭhira during the forest-exile context, reassuring him that after completing the thirteen-year term he will regain the Pandavas’ ancestral sovereignty, and urging him to let go of mental anguish.
