इदं तु वचन पार्थ शृणुष्व गदतो मम । भ्रातृभि: सह कौन्तेय यत् त्वां वक्ष्यामि कौरव,“कुन्तीनन्दन! कुरुश्रेष्ठ भाइयोंसहित तुमसे मैं जो एक बात कह रहा हूँ, इसे ध्यान देकर सुनो
idaṃ tu vacanaṃ pārtha śṛṇuṣva gadato mama | bhrātṛbhiḥ saha kaunteya yat tvāṃ vakṣyāmi kaurava ||
Vaiśampāyana disse: “Ó Pārtha, escuta atentamente esta minha declaração enquanto falo. Ó filho de Kuntī, juntamente com teus irmãos, ouve o que estou prestes a dizer-te, ó descendente dos Kurus.”
