रावणोत्पत्तिः—तपसा वरलाभश्च
Rāvaṇa’s Origins and the Acquisition of Boons
तांस्तथेत्यब्रवीद् राजा सर्वभूतहिते रत: । यथा भवन्तो ब्रुवते करिष्यामि च तत् तथा,समस्त प्राणियोंके हितमें तत्पर रहनेवाले राजा युधिष्ठिरने उनसे कहा--“बहुत अच्छा, तुमलोग जैसा कहते हो, वैसा ही करूँगा”
tāṁs tathety abravīd rājā sarvabhūtahite rataḥ | yathā bhavanto bruvate kariṣyāmi ca tat tathā ||
Vaiśampāyana disse: O rei, devotado ao bem-estar de todos os seres, respondeu-lhes: “Assim seja. Como dizeis, assim farei.”
