वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights atithi-dharma: ethical hospitality expressed through joyful, generous giving—food, drink, fragrance, and clothing—treating guests as worthy of honor rather than as burdens.
The narrator describes someone, delighted at heart, actively arranging and distributing provisions and gifts to guests—feeding them, offering drinks, adorning them with fragrant garlands, and giving various garments.
