Draupadī’s Identification of the Pāṇḍavas and the Onset of the Chariot Engagement

The verse highlights the dharmic ideal that major undertakings—especially those involving power and violence—should begin with self-purification, respectful reception of Brahminical blessings, and attention to auspicious timing, framing personal prowess within ritual and social order.
Karna, after completing auspicious bathing and being honored by the twice-born with benedictions, departs at a favorable nakṣatra, tithi, and muhūrta; the roar of his chariot is described in hyperbolic cosmic terms as echoing through the three worlds.
