Even in transit, one should act with foresight and restraint—release burdens, choose an auspicious and resource-rich resting place, and maintain orderly conduct. Practical wisdom (selecting grass and water for men and animals) is presented as part of dharmic living.
The narrator describes a halt during travel: the conveyances are unyoked and left by the roadside, and the party (or leader) settles on a pleasant, auspicious patch of land where grass and water are readily available.
