ते तु तत्र नरव्याप्रा: समीप इति नः श्रुतम् अतो नाभ्यनुजानामि गमन तत्र वः स्वयम्,मैंने सुना है कि नरश्रेष्ठ पाण्डव भी इन दिनों वहीं कहीं आस-पास ठहरे हुए हैं; अतः तुमलोगोंको मैं स्वयं वहाँ जानेकी आज्ञा नहीं दे सकता
te tu tatra naravyāprāḥ samīpa iti naḥ śrutam | ato nābhyanujānāmi gamanaṃ tatra vaḥ svayam ||
“Mas ouvimos dizer que os Pāṇḍavas —os mais eminentes entre os homens— estão alojados em algum lugar próximo, nessa mesma região. Por isso não posso conceder-vos permissão para irem até lá por conta própria.”
धृतराष्ट उवाच
Power must be exercised with restraint: when a situation risks provoking injustice or escalating hostility, a ruler should consider consequences and avoid actions that could lead to adharma or needless conflict.
Dhritarashtra reports that he has heard the Pandavas are staying nearby and, because of that sensitive proximity, he refuses to authorize the listeners to go there on their own.
