Kaurava Court Hears of the Pāṇḍavas’ Forest Hardship
O deus do Fogo caiu inteiramente sob o domínio do desejo.
The verse highlights how attachment in the mind can disturb the senses and lead even a mighty being into the control of desire; ethically it underscores the need for vigilance, restraint, and guarding the mind from fixation on sense-objects.
Mārkaṇḍeya describes Agni seeing the wives of eminent Brahmin sages; his senses become agitated and he falls under the power of kāma (desire), setting up the ensuing moral and narrative consequences.
