Kaurava Court Hears of the Pāṇḍavas’ Forest Hardship (वैचित्रवीर्यवंशीयस्य राज्ञः करुणाविचारः)
मार्कण्डेय उवाच इन्द्रस्तस्या वच: श्रुत्वा दु:खितो5चिन्तयद् भृशम् । अस्या देव्या: पतिर्नास्ति यादृशं सम्प्रभाषते,मार्कण्डेयजी कहते हैं--राजन्! देवसेनाकी बात सुनकर इन्द्र अत्यन्त दुःखी हो सोचने लगे “इस देवीको जैसा यह बता रही है, वैसा पति मिलना सम्भव नहीं जान पड़ता”
mārkaṇḍeya uvāca | indras tasyā vacaḥ śrutvā duḥkhito 'cintayad bhṛśam | asyā devyāḥ patir nāsti yādṛśaṃ samprabhāṣate |
Markandeya disse: “Ó rei! Ao ouvir suas palavras, Indra ficou profundamente aflito e ponderou intensamente. Pensou: ‘Para esta dama divina, parece não existir esposo algum que corresponda ao que ela descreve e exige.’”
