देवासुरा: पुरा यत्ता विनिध्नन्त: परस्परम्‌ । तत्राजयन्‌ सदा देवान्‌ दानवा घोररूपिण:

Em tempos antigos, deuses e asuras se prepararam para a guerra e feriam-se mutuamente com armas. Nesse conflito, os Dānavas de forma terrível venciam sempre os deuses.
