Educational Q&A

Ritual action becomes effective when aligned with dharma and performed with mantra and reverence: Agni, duly worshipped, functions as the sacred mediator who transmits human offerings to the divine realm, sustaining the ordered relationship between humans and gods.

Mārkaṇḍeya concludes a genealogical account of the Fire-gods, affirming Agni’s established role in sacrifice: when invoked and honored through diverse mantras, Agni carries the offered havis from embodied beings to the gods.
