Adhyāya 208: Aṅgirasī-kanyāḥ

Enumeration of Aṅgiras’ daughters and attribute-names

क्षमा सत्यार्जवं शौचं सतामाचारदर्शनम्‌ | सब विद्याओंका अध्ययन, सब तीथोंमें स्नान, क्षमा, सत्य, सरलता और शौच (पवित्रता)--ये श्रेष्ठ पुरुषोंके आचारको लक्षित करानेवाले हैं

kṣamā satyārjavaṃ śaucaṃ satām ācāra-darśanam | sarva-vidyānām adhyayanaṃ sarva-tīrtheṣu snānaṃ kṣamā satyaṃ saralatā ca śaucaṃ—ete śreṣṭha-puruṣāṇām ācāraṃ lakṣayanti ||

O caçador disse: “A tolerância, a veracidade, a retidão e a pureza — por esses sinais se reconhece a conduta dos virtuosos. De fato, o estudo de todos os ramos do saber e o banho em todos os vaús sagrados, juntamente com o perdão, a verdade, a simplicidade e a limpeza — esses são os indícios que revelam o modo de vida dos verdadeiramente excelentes.”
