Adhyāya 208: Aṅgirasī-kanyāḥ
Enumeration of Aṅgiras’ daughters and attribute-names
नियच्छन्ति परां बुद्धिं शिष्टाचारान्विता जना: । उपाध्यायमते युक्ता: स्थित्या धर्मार्थदर्शिन:
niyacchanti parāṁ buddhiṁ śiṣṭācārānvitā janāḥ | upādhyāyamate yuktāḥ sthityā dharmārthadarśinaḥ ||
As pessoas firmadas na conduta dos bem formados refreiam e estabilizam seu entendimento superior. Alinhadas ao conselho de seus mestres, permanecem disciplinadas em seu modo de vida e, assim, discernem o que é verdadeiramente dharma e o que é verdadeiramente benéfico.
व्याध उवाच
True discernment arises from self-restraint and steady conduct shaped by śiṣṭācāra (the norms of the wise) and guidance from a teacher; such discipline enables one to recognize both dharma (right) and artha (genuine benefit).
The hunter (Vyādha), instructing a seeker in ethical living, emphasizes that moral clarity is not merely theoretical: it is stabilized through disciplined life-practice and deference to sound instruction from a preceptor.
