Freedom from sin is attainable through properly performed action aligned with dharma, and this principle is supported by śruti (Vedic authority). The emphasis is on ethical, scripturally grounded conduct rather than mere status or birth.
The hunter (vyādha), instructing a Brahmin, cites śruti to validate his point: in matters of dharma, right action can cleanse sin. This forms part of the broader dialogue where an unexpected teacher articulates dharma with scriptural backing.
