Dharma-vyādha on Parental Worship
Pitṛ-mātṛ-śuśrūṣā as Paramadaivata
लोककर्ता महाभाग भगवानच्युतो हरि: । नागभोगेन महता परिरभ्य महीमिमाम्,साक्षाल्लोकगुसुर्तब्रह्या पद्मे सूर्यसमप्रभ: । महाभाग! अपनी महिमासे कभी च्युत न होनेवाले लोककर्ता भगवान् श्रीहरि नागके विशाल फणके द्वारा धारण की हुई इस पृथ्वीका सहारा लेकर (शेषनागपर) सो रहे थे, उस समय उन दिव्यस्वरूप नारायणकी नाभिसे एक दिव्य कमल प्रकट हुआ, जो सूर्यके समान प्रकाशित हो रहा था। उसीमें सम्पूर्ण लोकोंके गुरु साक्षात् पितामह ब्रह्माजी प्रकट हुए, जो सूर्यके समान तेजस्वी थे
mārkaṇḍeya uvāca |
lokakartā mahābhāgo bhagavān acyuto hariḥ |
nāgabhogena mahatā parirabhya mahīm imām |
śeṣe nāge mahābhoge śayāno 'bhūt sanātanaḥ |
tasya nābhyāṃ samutpannaṃ divyaṃ padmaṃ sūryasaṃprabham |
tasminn eva samāviṣṭo lokaguruḥ pitāmahaḥ |
sākṣād brahmā mahātejāḥ sūryavat pratibhāsvaraḥ ||
Mārkaṇḍeya disse: “O Senhor bem-aventurado Hari—Acyuta, o infalível artífice e sustentador dos mundos, que jamais decai de sua majestade—repousava sobre Śeṣa, enquanto as vastas espiras da serpente abraçavam e amparavam esta terra. Do umbigo do Senhor ergueu-se um lótus divino, radiante como o sol; e sobre esse lótus apareceu o próprio Brahmā, o Avô, mestre de todos os mundos, brilhando com esplendor solar.”
मार्कण्डेय उवाच
The verse emphasizes the Lord’s unfailing steadiness (Acyuta) as the foundation of cosmic order: the world is upheld and creation proceeds in an orderly, sacred manner—Brahmā arises from the divine lotus, indicating that creative power operates under a higher sustaining principle.
Mārkaṇḍeya describes a cosmic scene: Hari rests upon Śeṣa while supporting the earth; from his navel a radiant lotus appears, and on it Brahmā, the grandsire and teacher of the worlds, manifests—signaling the beginning or renewal of creation.
