Dharma-vyādha on Parental Worship
Pitṛ-mātṛ-śuśrūṣā as Paramadaivata
सुष्वाप भगवान् विष्णुरप्सु योगत एव सः । नागस्य भोगे महति शेषस्यामिततेजस:,उस समय वे भगवान् विष्णु एकार्णवके जलमें अमित तेजस्वी शेषनागके विशाल शरीरकी शय्यापर योगनिद्राका आश्रय लेकर शयन करते थे। उन्हीं भगवान्को सिद्ध, मुनिगण सबकी उत्पत्तिका कारण, लोकस्रष्टा, सर्वव्यापी, सनातन, अविनाशी तथा सर्वलोकमहेश्वर कहते हैं
suṣvāpa bhagavān viṣṇur apsu yogata eva saḥ | nāgasya bhoge mahati śeṣasyāmitatejasaḥ ||
Mārkaṇḍeya disse: “Então o Senhor bem-aventurado Viṣṇu jazia adormecido sobre as águas, repousando em sono ióguico. Reclinava-se nas vastas espiras da serpente Śeṣa, de esplendor incomensurável. Os sábios realizados e os videntes falam desse mesmo Senhor como a fonte de todos os seres, o criador dos mundos, o que tudo permeia, eterno, imperecível e supremo Senhor de todos os domínios.”
मार्कण्डेय उवाच
The verse presents Viṣṇu as the eternal, all-pervading source and ruler of the cosmos, whose yogic repose symbolizes sovereign control and sustaining order; creation and governance are grounded in timeless divinity rather than transient power.
Mārkaṇḍeya describes a cosmic scene: Viṣṇu rests in yogic sleep upon the vast coils of Śeṣa in the primordial waters, while sages identify him with the supreme creator and imperishable lord of all worlds.
