तथा कथां शुभां श्रुत्वा मार्कण्डेयस्यथ धीमत: । विस्मिता: समपद्यन्त पुराणस्य निवेदनात्,बुद्धिमान् मार्कण्डेयजीके मुखसे वह मंगलमयी कथा सुनकर पुराणोक्त बातोंका ज्ञान हो जानेसे सब लोग बड़े ही विस्मित और प्रसन्न हुए
tathā kathāṃ śubhāṃ śrutvā mārkaṇḍeyasya tha dhīmataḥ | vismitāḥ samapadyanta purāṇasya nivedanāt ||
Vaiśampāyana disse: “Tendo ouvido aquele discurso auspicioso do sábio Mārkaṇḍeya, todos os presentes ficaram tomados de assombro; e, por sua narração do antigo relato purânico, alcançaram entendimento e alegraram-se profundamente.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Auspicious knowledge transmitted through revered tradition (Purāṇic lore) and spoken by a wise sage leads listeners to clarity, upliftment, and ethical orientation; attentive listening to such discourse is itself portrayed as transformative.
Vaiśampāyana reports the audience’s reaction after hearing Mārkaṇḍeya: they become amazed and pleased because his Purāṇic narration conveys ancient truths and gives them understanding.
