Kailāsa-darśana, Badarī-vāsa, and Sarasvatī–Dvaitavana Transition (कैलासदर्शन–बदरीवास–सरस्वतीद्वैतवनगमनम्)

अवध्यतां च राजेन्द्र सुरराक्षसपन्नगै: पुरं सुरमणीयं च खचरं सुमहाप्रभम्‌,राजेन्द्र! उन दोनोंने यह भी प्रार्थना की कि “हमारे पुत्र देवता, राक्षस तथा नागोंके लिये भी अवध्य हों। इनके रहनेके लिये एक सुन्दर नगर होना चाहिये, जो अपने महान प्रभा- पुज्जसे जगमगा रहा हो। वह नगर विमानकी भाँति आकाशमें विचरनेवाला होना चाहिये, उसमें सब प्रकारके रत्नोंका संचय रहना चाहिये, देवता, महर्षि, यक्ष, गन्धर्व, नाग, असुर तथा राक्षस कोई भी उसका विध्वंस न कर सके। वह नगर समस्त मनोवाजञ्छित गुणोंसे सम्पन्न, शोकशून्य तथा रोग आदिसे रहित होना चाहिये।” भरतश्रेष्ठ! ब्रह्माजीने कालकेयोंके लिये वैसे ही नगरका निर्माण किया था। यह वही आकाशचारी दिव्य नगर है, जो सर्वत्र विचरता है। इसमें देवताओंका प्रवेश नहीं है। वीरवर! इसमें पौलोम और कालकंज नामक दानव ही निवास करते हैं

avadhyatāṁ ca rājendra surarākṣasapannagaiḥ puraṁ suramaṇīyaṁ ca khacaraṁ sumahāprabham

Arjuna disse: “Ó rei, elas ainda pediram que seus filhos fossem invulneráveis até mesmo a deuses, rākṣasas e nāgas, e que possuíssem uma cidade supremamente bela, resplandecente de grande esplendor, movendo-se pelo céu como uma nave celestial. Ela deveria estar repleta de toda espécie de joias, impossível de ser destruída por qualquer ser—devas, grandes rishis, yakṣas, gandharvas, nāgas, asuras ou rākṣasas—dotada de todas as excelências desejadas, livre de tristeza e intocada pela doença. Ó melhor dos Bharatas, Brahmā forjou tal cidade para os Kālakeyas. Esta é aquela mesma cidade divina, errante pelos ares e que percorre toda parte; os deuses não têm entrada nela, e ali habitam os daityas chamados Pauloma e Kālakañja.”
