The verse highlights dhārmic conduct in the presence of higher authority: Yudhiṣṭhira responds to a divine figure with promptness, humility, and solidarity with his brothers, suggesting that righteous leadership seeks counsel and remains grounded rather than self-assertive.
Vaiśampāyana narrates that Yudhiṣṭhira, upon seeing the great-souled lord of the gods (Indra), goes to him at once, accompanied by his brothers—marking a respectful approach to a divine encounter.
