Rājarṣi-samāgamaḥ — Yudhiṣṭhirasya Dharma-parīkṣā ca

Meeting the Royal Sage and a Dharmic Audit

Educational Q&A

The passage highlights a kṣatriya-ethical response to crisis: a leader reads extraordinary signs (utpātas) as a call to timely, disciplined action, urging preparedness and courage while remaining attentive and observant.

Fearsome portents appear. Observing them, Yudhiṣṭhira interprets the situation as indicating that a decisive moment is near and calls on the Pāṇḍavas to ready themselves for battle; he then looks around, assessing the surroundings.
