Bhīma’s Entry into Kubera’s Nalinī and the Taking of Saugandhika Lotuses (सौगन्धिकोत्पल-ग्रहणम्)
बल॑ चातिबलो मेने न मे5स्ति सदृशो महान् | ततः पुनरथोवाच पर्यश्रुनयनो हरि:,अत्यन्त बलशाली भीमसेनको यह अनुभव हुआ कि मेरा बल बहुत बढ़ गया। अब मेरे समान दूसरा कोई महान् नहीं है। फिर हनुमानजीने अपने नेत्रोंमें आँसू भरकर सौहार्दसे गद्गदवाणीद्वारा भीमसेनको सम्बोधित करके कहा--“वीर! अब तुम अपने निवास- स्थानपर जाओ। बातचीतके प्रसंगमें कभी मेरा भी स्मरण करते रहना
balaṃ cātibalo mene na me 'sti sadṛśo mahān | tataḥ punar athovāca paryaśru-nayano hariḥ ||
Bhīma, sentindo-se extraordinariamente poderoso, pensou: “Minha força cresceu imensamente; não há grande homem igual a mim.” Então Hanumān, com os olhos marejados de lágrimas, falou de novo—movido por afeição e com a voz embargada pela emoção—aconselhando Bhīma: “Herói, volta agora à tua morada. E quando houver ocasião na conversa, lembra-te também de mim.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Even when one gains extraordinary power, it should be tempered by humility and guided by affectionate counsel from elders or exemplars; true greatness includes remembrance, gratitude, and restraint.
After the encounter that heightens Bhīma’s sense of strength, Hanumān—moved with affection—speaks emotionally, instructing him to return home and to remember him in due course.
