Bhīma’s Entry into Kubera’s Nalinī and the Taking of Saugandhika Lotuses (सौगन्धिकोत्पल-ग्रहणम्)

Educational Q&A

Righteous strength is not merely personal prowess; it is magnified by disciplined resolve and support from the virtuous. Hanumān’s promise symbolizes divine/elder aid that empowers dharmic warriors, turning courage into effective protection against adharma.

Hanumān assures Bhīma that when Bhīma roars and charges into the enemy host, Hanumān will amplify that roar and, positioned on the victory-banner (understood in the wider epic as Arjuna’s standard), will emit terrifying sounds that break the enemy’s spirit. After giving directions for Bhīma’s onward journey, Hanumān disappears.
