Hanūmān’s Vast Form and Instruction on Dharma–Statecraft

Disse Vaiśaṃpāyana: “Ó Rāma, enquanto a tua história continuar a ser contada pelos mundos, desejo permanecer vivo.” Ele respondeu: “Assim seja.” O Senhor aceitou minha prece, dizendo: “Assim seja.”

Educational Q&A

The passage links righteous rule and devotion with the enduring power of sacred narrative: dharma is upheld by rewarding loyalty (Vibhīṣaṇa’s consecration), restoring what is precious (the rescue of the queen likened to recovered śruti), and affirming that the remembrance of virtuous deeds sustains spiritual continuity—symbolized by the boon of life lasting as long as Rāma’s story is told.

Vaiśaṃpāyana recounts Rāma’s post-victory actions: he anoints Vibhīṣaṇa as ruler of Laṅkā, rescues his wife, returns swiftly to Ayodhyā, and reigns from the throne. Then the narrator asks Rāma for a boon to remain alive as long as Rāma’s story circulates in the world, and Rāma grants it with “tathāstu.”
