सौगन्धिकपुष्पप्रसङ्गः — The Saugaṇdhika Lotus and Bhīma’s Approach to Hanūmān
स्निग्धपत्रैरविरलै: शीतच्छायैर्मनोरमै: । सरांसि च विचित्राणि प्रसन्नसनलिलानि च,उपर्युक्त वृक्षोंके पत्ते चिकने और सघन थे। उनकी छाया शीतल थी। वे मनको बड़े ही रमणीय लगते थे। उस वनमें कितने ही विचित्र सरोवर भी थे, जो स्वच्छ जलसे भरे हुए थे
snigdhapatrair aviralaiḥ śītacchāyair manoramaiḥ | sarāṃsi ca vicitrāṇi prasannasalilāni ca ||
Ghaṭotkaca descreveu a floresta como repleta de árvores cujas folhas eram macias e densamente espalhadas, lançando uma sombra fresca e aprazível. Falou também de muitos lagos maravilhosos, cheios de águas claras e tranquilas—uma paisagem que convida ao repouso e ao alívio em meio às agruras do exílio.
घटोत्कच उवाच
The verse highlights how nature can become a source of relief and steadiness during adversity: cool shade and clear waters symbolize calmness, restoration, and the supportive conditions that help one endure hardship with composure.
Ghaṭotkaca is describing the surroundings—dense-leaved trees with cool, pleasant shade and many beautiful lakes with clear water—painting a vivid picture of a forest landscape suitable for rest during the Pandavas’ forest life.
