Kirmīra-rākṣasa-saṃgamaḥ (Encounter and Slaying of Kirmīra) | किर्मीरेण सह भीमसेनसमागमः
संक्रुद्धं केशवं दृष्टवा पूर्वदेहेषु फाल्गुन: । कीर्तयामास कर्माणि सत्यकीर्तेर्महात्मन:,वैशम्पायनजी कहते हैं--जनमेजय! कुन्तीपुत्रोंके अपमानसे भगवान् श्रीकृष्ण ऐसे कुपित हो उठे, मानो वे समस्त प्रजाको जलाकर भस्म कर देंगे। उन्हें इस प्रकार क्रोध करते देख अर्जुनने उन्हें शान्त किया और उन सत्यकीर्ति महात्माद्वारा पूर्व शरीरोंमें किये हुए कर्मोका कीर्तन आरम्भ किया
saṅkruddhaṃ keśavaṃ dṛṣṭvā pūrvadeheṣu phālgunaḥ | kīrtayāmāsa karmāṇi satyakīrter mahātmanaḥ ||
Vaiśaṃpāyana disse: Vendo Keśava (Kṛṣṇa) inflamado de ira, Phālguna (Arjuna) começou a recontar os feitos realizados por aquele grande ser, Satyakīrti, em suas encarnações anteriores—para acalmar a cólera de Kṛṣṇa e reconduzi-la à contenção justa.
वैशग्पायन उवाच
When righteous anger arises, it should be guided back into dharma through remembrance of virtue and exemplary deeds. Recounting noble actions (kīrtana) functions as an ethical corrective, redirecting emotion toward restraint and right conduct.
Kṛṣṇa (Keśava) is seen in a state of intense anger. Arjuna (Phālguna), observing this, begins praising and narrating the deeds of the great-souled Satyakīrti from earlier embodiments, as a means to pacify and steady Kṛṣṇa.
