Kirmīra-rākṣasa-saṃgamaḥ (Encounter and Slaying of Kirmīra) | किर्मीरेण सह भीमसेनसमागमः
ततः सर्वेडभिषिज्चामो धर्मराजं युधिष्ठिरम् । निकृत्योपचरन् वध्य एष धर्म: सनातन:,युद्धमें इनको और इनके सब सेवकोंको अन्य राजाओंसहित परास्त करके हम सब लोग धर्मराज युधिष्ठिरको पुनः चक्रवर्ती नरेशके पदपर अभिषिक्त करें। जो दूसरेके साथ छल-कपट अथवा धोखा करके सुख भोग रहा हो उसे मार डालना चाहिये, यह सनातन धर्म है
tataḥ sarve ’bhiṣiñcāmo dharmarājaṁ yudhiṣṭhiram | nikṛtyopacaran vadhya eṣa dharmaḥ sanātanaḥ ||
Então todos nós consagraremos novamente Dharmarāja Yudhiṣṭhira. Aquele que vive de engano—praticando fraude e traição para desfrutar da prosperidade—é digno de ser morto; isto, declara ele, é a regra eterna do dharma. A afirmação enquadra a luta vindoura como restauração da realeza legítima e resposta moral ao adharma, e não como simples vingança pessoal.
वायुदेव उवाच
The verse asserts a moral principle: prosperity gained and enjoyed through deceit (nikṛti) is adharma, and such conduct warrants severe punishment; the claim is presented as ‘sanātana dharma’—a timeless ethical rule tied to protecting social order.
Vāyudeva speaks of restoring rightful sovereignty by re-consecrating Yudhiṣṭhira as Dharmarāja, framing the intended action against wrongdoers as a dharmic correction and re-establishment of legitimate rule.
