Kṛṣṇa reframes Draupadī’s grief and anger by pointing to the inevitable reciprocity of war: those who cause suffering will also bring suffering upon their own households. He also offers steadfast support to act for the Pāṇḍavas’ welfare, urging her to restrain despair while justice is pursued.
In a gathering of heroes, Kṛṣṇa addresses Draupadī. He predicts that the wives of her enemies will soon lament in the same way when their husbands fall to Arjuna’s arrows, blood-soaked on the battlefield, and he promises to do all that is possible for the Pāṇḍavas’ cause.
