गङ्गाधारणम् (Gaṅgādhāraṇa) — Śiva Bears the Descent of Gaṅgā
त॑ तोषय महाबाहो तपसा वरदं हरम् । सतु मां प्रच्युतां देवः शिरसा धारयिष्यति,“महाबाहो! तुम तपस्याद्वारा उन्हीं वरदायक भगवान् शिवको संतुष्ट करो। स्वर्गसे गिरते समय वे ही मुझे अपने मस्तकपर धारण करेंगे
taṁ toṣaya mahābāho tapasā varadaṁ haram | sa tu māṁ pracyutāṁ devaḥ śirasā dhārayiṣyati ||
“Ó de braços poderosos, satisfaze Hara—Śiva, o doador de dádivas—por meio da austeridade. Pois, quando eu cair do céu, esse mesmo deus me sustentará sobre a sua cabeça.”
