ज्ञातयस्तारयन्तीह ज्ञातयो मज्जयन्ति च | सुवृत्तास्तारयन्तीह दुर्वत्ता मज्जयन्ति च
jñātayas tārayantīha jñātayo majjayanti ca | suvṛttās tārayantīha durvattā majjayanti ca ||
Vidura diz: Neste mundo, são os próprios parentes que podem levar alguém a salvo para a outra margem—e são esses mesmos parentes que também podem fazê-lo afundar. Os familiares de boa conduta tornam-se apoio salvador; os de conduta corrupta tornam-se causa de ruína.
